Anschluss †A Summary What was Anschluss? The Treaty of Versailles was made in 1919 assigning all the new laws being authorized on Europe after WWI. Anschluss was one of these; it precluded Germany from making a political association with Austria. Because of this law Hitler needed to discover a method of causing it to appear just as Austria needed the association. Hitler’s plan: He was supported by his accomplishments in 1936/1937 and now felt that Austria and Germany should become one German-talking nation.
